"Cooking is a craft, I like to think, and a good cook is a craftsman -- not an artist’’ a quote by– Anthony Bourdain and Leandro’s favorite, as his love for cooking could have drifted his career to becoming a Chef alongside caring for his 4 years old daughter, Emma. Leo’s passion for a good home cooked meal gathered many of his family and friends around, born in Germany from a family of musicians, there was no escaping the guitar strings and his love for music.

That did not stop his growing love for photography, which can only be described as a layer of the love he has for crafting and creating. Leandro’s passion for capturing moments started a while ago, by simply taking photos of his travels, simple photos, small moments of his everyday life;

Following his Master’s degree in Cinema from Lusófona university in Lisbon, he proceeded with winning an honorable mention award from Kodak worldwide, having Director of photography as his career goal, Leandro also produced, directed and sound engineered.

Since 2007, he has worked on short fiction projects, music videos, and commercials for brands like Nike, Lamborghini, Maserati, Ferrari, Jeep, Sky, Diesel, and many others. Some of his projects were selected for national and international film festivals. He was awarded the Pardino d’Argento in Locarno for the short film – History of Civilization

Leandro’s first feature film – Banzo- with director Margarida Cardoso is bound to be released in 2023.

To his humble opinion, as a director of photography, his aim is turning the imperfection of ordinary life into moments of imperfect beauty.
